NSA Goes to Panama: Mission Trip Recap

Jan 3, 2024 | Missions, NorthStar Academy | 0 comments

NorthStar recently hosted a mission trip to the country of Panama! Listen as Mr. Hester along with students Rachel, Melissa, and Emma recap the trip and the life changing impact it had on them and the community they served. Hear the fears and challenges they faced head on as they met in person for the first time, bonded as a team, and learned how to trust God in a new way. Growth is definitely the theme in this story and we couldn’t be prouder of “The NorthStar Nine.”

Rachel

I am 16 years old and in the 11th grade here at NSA. This is my fourth year at NSA. I live in Georgia, USA with my parents and my brothers. My older brother, Paul, is 17 and a senior at NSA. Paul also went on the Panama mission trip. My younger brother, Samuel, is 7 years old. I enjoy participating in my church’s choir, reading, and anything related to American Sign Language (ASL). I also love going to the beach and kayaking and swimming while I’m there.

Melissa

I am a junior here at NorthStar Academy, and I am in my fourth year here. I am the youngest of three girls in my family and I greatly look up to my sisters. I enjoy singing, acting, playing guitar and bass, and reading. As you may have guessed, I really enjoy music as well as acting. I love kids and animals and hope to be able to work more full time with one or both of them. I also really enjoy going to Church and Sunday School because I like to learn about the Bible and spend time with my church family.

Emma

I live on a small farm in southern Missouri with my parents and 3 younger siblings! I love animals, plants, and photography. I’m a big fan of anything crafty. I hope to one day travel and do photography 🙂
