Amy Shuflin

I was born and raised around the corn fields in Chicago, IL and attended Judson University where I earned a Bachelors in Youth Ministry and Adolescent Studies. After graduation and getting married, my husband and I made the move to international life in 2008 to Venezuela to work at the International Christian School of Caracas. There, we both earned our Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction through Indiana Wesleyan. We also were transformed by our ten years in Venezuela through friendship, teaching, food, the mountains, and political and economic unrest. We also became parents and started a family there where our son attended a local Venezuelan preschool. He is a proud citizen of Venezuela and will always make sure to let others know that his parents and sister are all from the US, but he is a Venezuelan (as the only Venezuelan passport holder in our family). In 2018 we moved to Malaysia to help start our new school, Oasis International School of Kuala Lumpur. I have worked as an English Language teacher, Bible teacher, guidance counselor, member care associate, Journalism teacher, chaplain, social-emotional counselor, and have written most of the courses that I taught on life skills and the Bible. My passions are people, coffee, food and caring for the amazing students that live the international life, as well as their parents and the staff that teach and support them.
