Rachel Goodwin

I was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised for most of my life in a rural area outside of Columbus, Ohio. I have two sisters. I went to a large public high school. When I was sixteen, I started walking with Jesus Christ after He showed me my unforgiveness that was destroying my life and how He came to save me from it by His death and resurrection. He used a country song show me this! A few years later, once I graduated high school, I attended a small Christian University near Dayton, Ohio, Cedarville University. I was graciously given a soccer scholarship while studying there, along with my twin sister. I played soccer all four years and majored in Biology and minored in Bible and Psychology. I then got accepted into graduate school in Nashville, TN at Trevecca Nazarene University Physician Assistant Program. Twenty-seven months later I graduated with my Master of Science Medicine. I then prayerfully decided to take a job in the Primary Care field in a low income, high risk, inner city area of Memphis, TN at a place called Resurrection Health. I practiced there for about 4 years when we had to close our doors because of funding. During the last few months of working there, one of the Physicians I worked with introduced me to my husband, Steven. Steven was his prayer partner. A year and a half later, we got married and moved to Southaven, MS. I then started working for my current job as a geriatric Physician Assistant at a retirement home in Memphis, TN making house calls. During this pandemic, God gave us our first child, a baby boy named Elliot. He is seven months old. Steven and I enjoy spending time with our house church community that has a passion for discipleship. In my spare time, I enjoy running, baking, and anything outdoors.
