Dr. JP Rader
I grew up in Korea as a missionary kid. My parents were missionaries with the Salvation Army from 1961-84. That shaped me as I grew up as a third culture kid. That perspective has stayed with me into adulthood. I attended Asbury University as an education major and played college soccer and tennis. I got married at Asbury, had my first child and was hired at Young Harris College in Georgia where I spent three years teaching and coaching. I returned to Korea after that and spent the next twenty-two years teaching History, coaching basketball and volleyball and serving as the AD at Seoul Foreign School while growing our family to five. I also started my admin career, serving as the HS Assistant Principal. The opportunity to return to Asbury came in 2009 and I served seven years at AU as an Associate Professor of Education while also coaching the Women’s Volleyball Team. While at Asbury I earned my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Morehead State University. God called us back to Korea in 2016 as I took the role of Secondary Principal at Gyeonggi Suwon International School. In 2019 I began my current role as the Director of School at International Community School in Singapore. I love to run, bike, play sports of all kinds, read and travel. I also am a History geek who thinks a WW1 battlefields tour is a great way to spend my holiday.
