We love any opportunity to connect with our alumni, and today we are so excited to hear from Sarah Grace Patrick, Rhianna Ring-Howell, and Emily Toepler! Listen as they reflect on their time at NorthStar Academy and lessons they learned that gave them a strong foundation for where they are now. It is so fun to hear them reminisce on their time at our in person graduation ceremony, their time at NSA, and their college experiences so far! We are so proud of each of them!
Sarah Grace Patrick
My name is Sarah Grace Patrick, and I’m an NSA alumna! I’m currently attending Union University as a Creative Writing major with a double minor in Communications and Political Science.
Rhianna Ring-Howell
Rhianna lives in Connecticut with her mother, her younger sister, and their dog. She attended NorthStar for five years (graduating in 2022) and was a part of Student Council, Welcome Committee, National Honors Society, and various clubs during her time at school. Currently, she attends The Author Conservatory (an online program for aspiring authors), and works part time at a local aquarium. In her spare time she enjoys practicing Taekwondo, performing in both musicals and operas, as well as reading, and playing piano. She dreams of one day being able to travel the world, becoming a successful, published author, and running her own business.
Emily Toepler
I’m a 2019 NSA graduate and participated in the first in-person graduation. I attended NSA from 2014 to 2019. I served as Student Council Librarian and Welcome Committee Leader as well as writing for the Navigator. I’m adopted from China and my family served overseas there for 13 years. I’m fairly fluent in Chinese and also know Latin and a bit of Korean. I live with my parents and sister (2022 graduate) in Cleveland, Ohio. I’m currently at Cleveland State University where I will complete my bachelor’s degree in May 2023 and then pursue an MBA to meet requirements to become a Certified Public Accountant. Also, I work at a company called Parkwood, which manages investments, philanthropic endeavors, and more for the Mandel family (this family is known for its generosity here in Cleveland). When I have free time, my interests/hobbies include reading, photography/scrapbooking, playing the flute, baking, hanging out with friends, and cross-stitching.
