Join us as we talk with Melinda Whited, a mom of 7 children on the mission field in Southeast Asia. Melinda shares how God has provided for her family over the past decade, including providing the exact resources she has needed for her children with dyslexia. Learn the signs of dyslexia and hear advice that she has picked up along the way. Melinda strives to teach her children to pray for unreached people groups, support missionaries, and make disciples no matter where God calls them in life. Be motivated and encouraged as you hear her passion for her family and their devotion to serving in the aviation ministry so that unreached people can hear the name of Jesus.

Melinda Whited

Melinda was born and raised in Tennessee. She became a Christian during her elementary years. She felt a specific call to missions when she was in high school. When she was 19, she married Dano, her high school sweetheart, and they will be celebrating their 29th anniversary this November. Melinda finished her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Elementary Education. She taught 1st grade for 4 years and one year of 5th grade in Florida. Then they moved to Texas. After 13 years as a Navy wife, Melinda along with Dano made the transition into full-time mission aviation work. At that time, they had 3 kids ages 3 and under. They served in Ohio and North Carolina and eventually in Southeast Asia, where they are still serving. God continued to bless them resulting in a total of 7 children. Melinda stays busy homeschooling most of their children, taking care of her family in a developing country, and listening to audiobooks.
